Time and attention: the most precious and wasted things in our lives
Most of the people I know and work with share one characteristic: they are obsessed with making the most of their time. They audit their calendars. They guard their hours. They pack the day and measure themselves against the clock.
And yet, put them in their most important moments, and watch what happens. Everything gets packed. Agendas with no white space in them. Everybody is in the answer, and no one is asking the big question.
We treat density as respect, as if a full agenda is how we prove the moment mattered.
I think about time and attention as the canvas of our lives. Everything that ever happened to you that mattered took place in time, at a moment when you were fully in someone's attention, or you caught somebody else's full attention.
The gatherings people still talk about years later had space in them. A big question. Someone willing to open up. Someone willing to invite in.
I started Keen to help people make the most of their precious moments and earn the attention and belief they deserve. We put people and ideas in motion so they are felt, not just heard.
Krim Stephenson is the principal of Keen, a persuasive coaching, training, and design practice based in San Carlos, California. Keen brings together the tools of executive coaching and storytelling to help clients access balanced confidence, uncover their own unique story, and embody and express that story in the world.
The result: they show up with authentic presence and memorable impact in the moments that matter most, whether they are happening on a stage, in a boardroom, or anywhere else.
Krim has over twenty years of experience building stories, preparing storytellers, and activating leaders. His work spans clients in the legal sector and beyond, including Microsoft, Visa, Atlassian, NetApp, Ironclad, Intel, Goodwin Procter, and others.
Since 2019, he has served as a faculty coach with the Stanford Graduate School of Business, helping instructors design, prepare for, and lead immersive courses in the full-time MBA program. He is also part of the coaching and instruction team for LOWkeynotes.
Krim holds an MBA from USC, an Integral Coach certification from New Ventures West, and a BA from Princeton.

Keen works with founders, executives, and senior teams in demanding organizations: very smart, achievement-oriented people carrying moments that matter. About half of the practice is with senior legal leaders and their teams.
The work runs one to one, with whole leadership teams, and as workshops, virtual or in person, shaped to the room and the moment. Whatever the format, it is built around a real moment on your calendar.
